Westville Boys School (South Africa)
Trevor Hall was appointed to the position of Headmaster of Westville Boys’ High School (South Africa) in 1997, during a time of considerable change in South African education. Apart from leading a large school comprising 1 250 students, he serves the South African Department of Education in various capacities: as a moderator of National Grade 12 public examination papers, as a consultant on curriculum and examination matters and as a trainer of national and provincial examiners. He was integrally involved in the development of the current South African high school curriculum, and is often required to present papers on various educational topics such as governance and management of schools, student leadership programmes and emotional intelligence. He also undertakes freelance work for the national accrediting body, Umalusi, as a researcher on curriculum matters and as a moderator and quality assurer of Matric exams.
